Alas, poor Squeaky has been feeling under the weather. Squeaky has a severe case of BEST FEVER. His system must be treated radically. Only gene therapy can cure him, his DNA must be repaired. If you’d like to begin learning about DNA and the science behind this year’s game, have a look at this link. Let’s all work together to save Squeaky so he will be at his BEST for another 10 years!Who is Squeaky?

About Texas BEST

Texas BEST is one of two regional play-off events for BEST Robotics Inc. (BRI) that concludes an annual fall student team robotics design challenge. Sponsored by Texas InstrumentsSMU School of EngineeringBoeing, and Raytheon Texas BEST is a two-day championship for 60 precollege student teams advancing from local Boosting Engineering, Science, and Technology (BEST) competitions in Texas and several other states west of the Mississippi River. These top-placing middle school and high school teams meet on the SMU campus in November to match their remote-controlled robotic machines in a game of strategy, speed, and skill-and the right to earn top honors in a Best-of-the-BEST showdown! BEST teams located in local competition sites east of the Mississippi River will compete at the South’s BEST Regional Championship at Auburn University, Alabama (see below).

As with local BEST contests, competition day at Texas BEST is a thrilling mix of both science fair and sporting event. Conducted in SMU’s Moody Coliseum, teams face off four-at-a-time on two playing fields, scoring points tracked by referees and cheered on by screaming fans, cheerleaders, and band musicians. The atmosphere builds throughout the day to take on the air and excitement of a basketball finals game!

The South’s BEST

The South’s BEST Regional Robotics Championship (www.southsbest.org) is located at Auburn University (AL). It is the regional championship for all hubs east of the Mississippi River. Over 175 teams from eight hubs in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Ohio, and Pennsylvania will be vying for one of 50 team slots at South’s BEST.
